Recovering from a history of disordered eating is possible, regardless of how long you may have been struggling with it. I work with people with all types of disordered eating and body image issues, including: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, compulsive overeating and over-exercising.
My philosophy on disordered eating is that it is never just about food; rather, it has its roots in emotional issues, historical experiences and societal influences. It is therefore important to address healing on multiple levels, including: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.
From our work together, you will:
• Identify and resolve the underlying emotional issues that contribute to your current relationship with food
• Identify and challenge the voices in your head that contribute to destructive patterns of eating
• Repair your relationship with your body and learn to treat yourself with the love and compassion you deserve
• Confront fears of change
• Learn to decrease stress and develop healthier coping habits
• Gain the confidence to make better choices around food-related behaviors
I understand how isolating, fearful and sometimes shameful it can feel to have a difficult relationship with food and am committed to providing a safe, supportive and compassionate place for you to uncover what is at the core of your issues and work towards creating a healthier relationship with yourself and your body.
